Known for adding a twist of turntablism to his party rocking style, DJ TLM is one of the most respected Hip Hop DJ’s in The Netherlands. Born and raised in Amsterdam, this DJ has been in the game for almost 15 years and has released more than 30 mixtapes, did over 2000 live shows with MC Brainpower* and is no rookie when it comes to hosting radio shows. His last show on Royal Radio (Focus Radio) earned him a nomination for ‘Best Urban Radio Show’ at the Dutch MOBO Awards.

TLM specializes in Hip Hop, R&B and New Jack Swing, but his digital crates (TLM uses the popular Serato Scratch Live system) also contain Dancehall, Funk, Disco, Soul, UK Garage and much more. Club DJ, Mixtape DJ, Turntablist, Radio DJ and DJ for an artist; DJ TLM is all of the above!

DJ TLM is presenting 3 concepts that each focus on a different aspect of urban music. TLM showcases the concepts through his mixtapes. It’s also possible to book one of TLM’s concepts as a total package (DJ TLM with a second DJ and a host) for the entire day/night. Let’s break it down:

Hypnotize

Music: Hip Hop and R&B

Target audience: 16 and older.
It used to be easy to find a party where the DJ only played Hip Hop and R&B, but nowadays it seems like every party has to have an eclectic feel. Even the so called ‘urban’ events include house DJ’s in their line-up.

Hypnotize is 100% Hip Hop and R&B and TLM hits you with the hottest club bangers. He also plays a lot of tracks that deserve to be played in the clubs but never got the support because a lot of DJ’s prefer to stick to the hits.

Remember The Time

Music: New Jack Swing, Classics, Soul, Disco and Oldschool Hip Hop.

Examples: Basic Black, Guy, Ready For The World, R Kelly, Bobby Brown, Wrexx-n-Effect, Bell Biv Devoe, Christopher Williams, Jodeci, Tony Toni Tone, Boyz 2 Men, Hi Five, Johnny Gill, Samuelle, Heavy D, Kwame, Redhead Kingpin, James Brown, Luther Vandross, Mary Jane Girls, etc.

Target audience: 25 and older.

New Jack Swing (also known as Swingbeat) is the perfect combination of uptempo Hip Hop influenced beats mixed with the smooth vocals and harmony of R&B. The sub-genre started in the early 90’s and only lasted a couple of years, but left us some incredible tunes.

The positive vibes and uptempo beats of New Jack Swing will put a big smile on your face and you’ll be dancing all night long!

To complement the vibes of New Jack Swing TLM also adds a little bit of classics, soul,  disco and oldschool Hip Hop to the mix. This is Remember The Time.
